Ішли одного разу сонце, мороз і вітер стовповою дорогою усі три і зустрічають чоловіка. — Здоров був! — Доброго здоров'я! Поздоровкались і пішли, ті собі, а той собі; пройшли вони з гони і роздумались тоді: кому той чоловік здоров'я бажав — чи на всіх, чи, може, одному?
Вернулись, нагонять того чоловіка: — Обожди, чогось іспросимось. Той обождав, підходять вони до його разом і питають: — Кому, чоловіче, ти казав доброго здоров'я — чи одному, чи на усіх? — Ні,— каже чоловік,— одному я казав. — Котрому ж з нас ти казав? — Оцьому,— каже,— губатому я бажав здоров'я.
Обернулись і йдуть собі назад, сонце й каже: — Я його попечу! А мороз каже: — Я його ізморожу. А вітер каже: — Ти не спечеш, а ти не зморозиш, бо як ти будеш пекти, а я буду холодний вітер віять, а як ти, морозе, будеш морозить, то я притихну, і він не змерзне.
